Annotation: For the first time, a genetic-algorithm-based technique for the automated synthesis of linear and low-noise microwave transistor amplifies is proposed that allows the generation of circuit schematic and initial layout. Amplifiers based on PCB, hybrid IC and MMIC technologies can be synthesized using exact models of real passive components, connection lines and other layout elements. The technique is implemented in a software environment that integrates the modified synthesis tool Geneamp and CAD tool Microwave Office. In order to demonstrate the efficiency of the technique, an example synthesis of 36–40 GHz single-stage MMIC LNA based on 0.15 μm GaAs-pHEMT process is presented.
