Abstract: Аn algorithm for approximation of a large data set has been proposed. A comparison of the new algorithm and the polynomial approximation for the case of the approximation of the delay per unit length of transmission lines in a wide range of parameters of the basic structures of printed circuit boards has been performed. The performance of the proposed algorithm and the possibilities of its improvement have been described.
