Abstract: A new approach to structural-parametric synthesis of microwave transistor amplifiers based on genetic algorithm is presented. It allows the direct use of MMIC element models during the synthesis process. This approach is implemented in the Geneamp software tool. As an example, the design of 30–37.5 GHz 0.15 µm GaAs pHEMT three-stage MMIC LNA is demonstrated.
