Abstract: In the paper we considered the problem of labour force balance in Khanty-Mansiysky avtonomny okrug – Yugra. The existing methods of forecasting recruitment needs were analized in the regional economy. We propose a method to determinate the demand for personnel, which is based on the employment rate of the population. The comparative analysis of classical and the propoesd methods was made and the efficiency of the proposed method was shown.
