Study of the amplitude-frequency characteristics of modal filters with a passive conductor in the form of a series of transmission line segments

Annotation: The possibility of increasing the gain slope of the modal filter by increasing the number of segments of transmission lines that make up the passive conductor is considered. An electrodynamic analysis was used to study the gain of modal filters based on strip lines with a broadside coupling and a modal filter with an interdigital structure of conductors. The possibility of increasing the gain slope and bandwidth is also confirmed by the field experiment. It is shown that in addition to improving the frequency characteristics, the successive combination of two modal filters improves the suppression of an ultrashort pulse.
