Annotation: The study presents the results of comprehensive investigations of nonlinear optical effects in the nanocomposite based on quantum dots of cadmium sulfide in the shell of mercaptoethanol acid, embedded in an optically transparent silicate matrix. The paper describes the effects of reversible photoinduced changes of the absorption coefficient and refractive index in response to the magnitude of the dose of UV radiation. The dependence of the nonlinear optical response of nanocomposite on the concentration of quantum dots, the dose of exposure and the polarization of exposure radiation is shown.
