Features of functioning of plasma electron source at high pressures

Annotation: In the paper there are given the results of research on the possibility of raising the operating pressure of the plasma electron source based on hollow cathode discharge. It is deduced from experiments that at pressures of 20 Pa the high voltage current of glow discharge is essential, it grows with increasing pressure and leads to restriction of the possibility of independent control of magnitude of the current and accelerating voltage electron beam. It is shown that changes in the geometry of the accelerating gap can increase its dielectric strength and reduce the current of high voltage glow discharge.
