Abstract: An analytical expression for equal normalized magnitudes of even and odd mode pulses at the output of modal filter based on the face coupled lines is derived. The expression derived is verified in the course of computer simulation. Dependence of normalized magnitudes of pulses on thickness of substrate with the face coupling is found. The increase of modal filter damping factor from 2 to 5 while increasing the coupling is shown.
