Method to smooth time series of NDVI

Abstract: The method to smooth a time series of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) for the period of time of one year is investigated. The main objective of the technique is to automate and to increase the speed and the efficiency in the presence of outliers. The authors describe the method and the results of its application to the smoothing of the NDVI derived from satellite radiometer MODIS.
