Abstract: Methods of modeling and calculating orthomode transducer based on the basis of the cross splitter, which is part of the frequency-polarization device of global feed horn antennas or feed antenna for reflector antennas, were reviewed. The influence of the length of the quarter wave transformer installed on the arms orthomode transducer and the width of the operating frequency band were investigated. The method to reduce the transverse dimensions of orthomode transducer by using of the waveguide bend as quarter wave transformer was shown. This allowed to reduce more than two times the size of the device.
