Features of generating beam plasma in isolated metallic hollow in fore-vacuum pressure range

Annotation: We present the results on the measurements of parameters for beam plasma produced in the metallic hollow by accelerated electron beam from fore-vacuum plasma-cathode electron source. It is shown that the plasma parameters within isolated metallic cavity are higher than in case when the plasma is formed in grounded hollow or without it. Experimental results confirm our assumption that the main mechanism responsible for higher plasma parameters in isolated metallic hollow is related to the additional energy input by secondary electrons accelerated in sheaths.
