Abstract: The study describes the technologies of testing used in education. The paper gives the main characteristics, which are considered at test preparation in distance learning. The analysis of test control of knowledge is carried out. Testing merits and demerits from the ordinary monitoring system of knowledge are presented. Definitions of tests are given. Classification of tests and technologies of testing is given.
