Fractal dimension – an estimated quality measure of a surface of metal rolling

Abstract: The article considers the prerequisites to development of the automated system of diagnostics of surface structure of metal rolling. The function chart of quality estimation of metal rolling surface with use of fractal dimension of the marked-out defect contour is given. We propose the multichannel structure of the algorithm for determining the fractal dimension index of defects of metal rolling surface.
