Abstract: In the research we investigated the optical properties of Bragg fiber containing an intermediate layer between the periodic optical cladding and the hollow core. Attenuation losses of waveguide modes were calculated using transfer matrix method. It was shown that these attenuation losses can be reduced by an order of magnitude in comparison with the standard Bragg fiber by using the intermediate layer with a higher refractive index than that of the periodic optical cladding.
