Information systems for national security threat analysis

Annotation: Information technology plays a significant role in what has become known as «computational social science». The development of online technologies and digital research methods in the subject areas of social science is associated with the application of new interdisciplinary approaches and the integration of researchers from different fields of knowledge. As an effective and promising tool for researchers in the study of violent ideologies that destabilize the social order, the article discusses examples of databases, services and platforms for multivariate analysis. Opportunities and limitations of customizing data collection, processing, and presentation are outlined. An overview of the specific characteristics of the databases, services and platforms on the START Research Center website is presented. Conclusions are made about what opportunities such tools open for researchers and the prospects of realization of the most interesting solutions for improving the process of automation of data analysis are outlined.
