Abstract: The paper presents experimental results on the efficiency of H.265/HEVC intra coding tools for digital video compression. Based on the research results, we reduced a set of intra coding tools to be used in a hardware implementation of H.265/HEVC video encoder, thus allowing to reduce its computational comlexity and power consumption.
