Abstract: Relevance. This paper presents a review of current methods for improving the quality factor and reducing the frequency dispersion of integrated inductor parameters. Parasitic capacitive coupling and ohmic losses limit the quality factor and operating bandwidth of integrated inductors used in matching circuits, filters, and resonators of the microwave range. Objective. The study aims to systematize current approaches to the design of planar and three-dimensional integrated inductors aimed at increasing the quality factor and reducing the frequency dispersion of parameters, as well as formulating research hypotheses in the field of design-topological optimization. Methods. An analytical review of design solutions, including irregular conductor width, fractal geometries, multilayer structures, substrate shielding techniques, and connection method. Scientific novelty. A comprehensive consideration of the factors determining the quality factor and frequency dispersion of integrated inductors is presented, together with design-topological aspects that have previously been investigated mostly separately. Results. It is shown that optimizing the winding geometry and applying multilevel metallization improve the quality factor, while the influence of connection methods and the mutual orientation of multilayer structures remains insufficiently studied. Research hypotheses are formulated concerning the potential improvement of frequency characteristics through the comprehensive optimization of the geometry and topology of integrated inductors. Practical significance. The review results can be used in the design of microwave-band matching circuits, filters, and resonators at the stage of selecting the geometry and topology of integrated inductors.
