Abstract: Relevance. The comparison of international information modeling practices with their institutional implementation in Russia is complicated by persistent terminological ambiguity within the professional and academic communities. This ambiguity creates a barrier to the effective adaptation of international experience and the integration of domestic projects into global processes. Purpose of the study. The study aims to develop recommendations for integrating effective international solutions into the Russian TIM (Information Modeling Technologies) framework and to develop the structure of an automated system ensuring the functional interoperability of TIM and BIM (Building Information Modeling). Methods. The analysis is based on a system of criteria covering the legal regulation of the practices under consideration, their technological stack, as well as their organizational and procedural model. Scientific novelty. For the first time, a comprehensive comparison of international and domestic practices for lifecycle data management has been conducted. Based on this comparison, principles for integrating BIM and TIM technologies have been identified, and the need for their integration to support the development of the construction industry has been substantiated. Results. It is concluded that TIM is an independent practice of information modeling, and not a direct synonym for BIM. Practical recommendations have been developed for adapting effective elements of international practice to enhance the competitiveness of the Russian construction industry. The structure of an automated system ensuring interoperability between TIM and BIM has been developed. Practical Significance. The resulting recommendations and the structure of the automated system can form the basis for further research on the selection and integration of best practices in information modeling in Russian projects.
