Abstract: The results of the electromechanical self-excitation AC and DC generators analysis from the perspective of the automatic control theory are presented. Similarity of the self-excitation conditions of the asynchronous and DC generators is demonstrated. The expressions to determine the generator self- excitation conditions as well as limit load operation conditions are obtained. Parametric excitation of the asynchronous generator in the mechatronic system containing autonomous voltage inverter is demonstrated.
