Abstract: The design of the single-phase induction motor with increased starting torque is described. The principles of motor functioning are considered. Ways of modernization of single-phase induction motors in the direction of energy efficiency are offered. Experimental mechanical characteristics of the proposed electric motor in comparison with the standard electric motor are provided. Values of energy efficiency for various proposed design options of single-phase induction motors are given.
