Abstract: In the article we describe some properties and characteristics of the of evolution of a cellular automaton that are important in solving problems of encoding information. We propose the two approaches to the use of mathematical apparatus of cellular automata theory for solving of the given tasks. As extension of classical cellular automaton model we will introduce a notion of cellular automaton with code set.
