Abstract: The paper confirms the possibility to build a VCO 1–2 GHz with increased tuning sensitivity. The set of system requirements to VCO has been specified and similar variants of VCOs have been considered. After the investigation of different VCO schemes from well-known manufacturers, an own VCO scheme has been suggested. When the requirements to CV curve has been specified, the exact varactor diode has been selected. The constructed VCO allows to achieve an octave tuning using control voltage range from 0 to 5 V.
