Abstract: The theory of measuring of complex earthing devices of large sizes is considered. It is shown that in grounds combining vertical and horizontal heterogeneity in an electric structure, there is an only variant of location of auxiliary potential electrode in the one-radial scheme of measuring, when exact determination of resistance of earthing device is possible. It is offered the algorithm of experimental search of this variant on a measurement area with an unknown geoelectric structure. The ways of realization of this algorithm are discussed.
